▌China to enhance cooperation with SCO members’ prosecuting agencies

加强与上合组织成员国检察机关合作

▌On 8th November, 2023, the 21st Prosecutors General Conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States was held in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. Ying Yong, procurator-general of China’s Supreme People’s Procuratorate, made remarks during the conference.

11月8日，第二十一次上海合作组织成员国总检察长会议在陕西西安举行，最高人民检察院检察长应勇作主旨发言。

▌“Only by strengthening cooperation can we conquer challenges and share opportunities,” Ying Yong said. In China, procuratorates played a key role in legal supervision and ensuring the unified and correct implementation of national laws, actively contributing to building China into a modern socialist country in all respects. Chinese procuratorates had always attached equal importance to punishing crimes and protecting human rights, and they also closely supervised law enforcement and judicial work to ensure fairness and justice.

应勇表示，“惟有加强合作，才能共享机遇；惟有同舟共济，才能应对挑战。”中国检察机关作为国家的法律监督机关和保障国家法律统一正确实施的司法机关，是全面建设社会主义现代化国家的重要参与者、积极推动者。检察机关坚持惩治犯罪与保障人权并重，依法履行法律监督职责，有力维护执法司法公平正义。
