▌China steps up efforts to nurture law-based business environment
China prosecuted 134,000 people on charges of disrupting the order of the market economy in 2021, as part of the country's effort to nurture a business environment that benefits market entities, according to the work report of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.
▌China's procuratorial authorities are active in defusing financial risks
A total of 43,000 people involving financial fraud or disrupting the order of financial administration have been prosecuted last year, up 3.3% year on year.
Guangdong's procuratorial authorities endeavor to ensure and maintain sustainable economic growth. In 2021, a total of 1,881 people involving financial fraud or disrupting the order of financial administration have been prosecuted in Guangdong. A total of 149 people were prosecuted for money laundering, taking 1/8 of that of the country. Guangdong's procuratorial authorities handled 88 corporate compliance cases last year, accounting for 1/7 of the country’s total amount. Moreover, a total of 981 people were prosecuted for criminal offence related to Covid-19.
